Who Doesn't Love An Alpha Male

I don't know about you, but I love an Alpha Male in my romance novels. I mean really what is sexier then a strong, drop dead gorgeous hero that can sweep us off our feet while holding there own whether they are in a boardroom on Wall Street, a ranch in the Mid-West or on a battle field. Granted sometimes our Alpha Heroes come across as arrogant and too full of themselves, but as romance readers we all know it just takes the love of the right woman to get past all that and capture the heart of our hero.

Who is your favorite Alpha Hero? I am not sure I have a specific one, but I can think of a few that I love reading about over and over. Some of those include James Malory from The Gentle Rogue, Brodick Buchanan from Ransom and Jaguar Strike from Nightkeepers.

Since I love my Alpha Males, it only made since to me that I include them in my own stories. The hero in my latest book, The Billionaire Playboy is Jake Sherbrooke. Known to the world as Prince Charming, he can handle his own whether he is in the boardroom, a disaster zone, or the bedroom.

She's spent her life avoiding love

Captain Charlotte “Charlie” O'Brien, a doctor in the United States Navy, returns to her home in North Salem, Massachusetts to visit her family and make an important decision about her future. Mother Nature has other plans when a hurricane strikes, flooding the town and throwing Jake Sherbrooke in Charlie's path. Initially she believes Jake is nothing more than a rich playboy, but quickly, she learns that he is so much more.

The media calls him Prince Charming

Jake Sherbrooke has never been one to follow the path laid out by his parents. That is why he started the Falmouth Foundation, a non-profit disaster relief organization rather than enter politics. When he learns of the destruction in North Salem, he immediately travels there to offer aid and meets Charlie O'Brien. Charlie is unlike any woman he has ever meet and he can not help but be drawn to her.

Soon neither can ignore the incredible chemistry between them. But will his reputation as a billionaire playboy damage their budding romance?

  1. I think alpha males are very sexy. In my real life I like having a say but for my fantasy man it is great that he just takes control and doesn't let me do any talking.

  2. I love alpha males! The are the stuff dreams are made of :-) I mean really, what woman doesn't love the idea of a big strong, virile man protecting us both physically and emotionally?

  3. Hi Chrisina,
Agree, alphas can be full of themselves. we love 'em and hate them at the same time.
I really enjoyed both Sherbrooke heroes. Its a tough choice between Dylan or Jake.....I think they were both well written and appealing. Inthink Dylan From "The Teacher's Billionaire" wins the game for me, maybe because he's the oldest brother. thanks for sharing

  5. I love Alphas, because I need someone as confident and dominant as me to be an equal in our relationship - I hate the feeling as if partner is less powerful than me and cannot make it without me.

My favourite Alpha male is Gabriel from Annette Curtis Klause's Blood and Chocolate, because he's strong, confident and willing to fight for what he wants.

    1. Yes, an alpha must be protective of those they love. I think he also needs to be able to finally give his heart when he meets the right person.

  8. Hello,

Doing the Alpha Male blog hop….oh yeah! I‘m excited to be a part of this hop! Wow, 200+ authors---a perfect opportunity to meet new authors! It’s always fun trying to visit as many sites as possible.

I love alpha heroes who are take charge men! They are loyal, loving and caring men. They usually have sexy looks, brains, money and a commanding presence that draws people. When they find their mates and fall in love they will move heaven and earth to stake their claim. This is exciting to watch even when they are not sure why they have to have or be with this particular person. An awesome love dance! It’s definitely addicting to read. I am an addict for The HEA!

Thanks for the opportunity to explore your site and win some great prizes.

  21. I will always love the cocky, over confident Alpha. He also needs to have enough snarky humor to banter back and forth and make me laugh. Rough and rugged good looks is a no brainer. Then he must have that controlling protective thing that is borderline over-bearing, but most women do love it, we just won't admit it. LOL

  24. Why I love Alpha Males is no real surprise! The perfect Alpha Male for me could be a Vampire, a Scottish Laird, an English Rogue/Gentleman, a Werewolf or Shape-shifter, or a Knight. He’s the rogue who thinks he can’t be reformed into a gentleman. He’s the rough and scarred Scottish laird that has a heart of gold. He’s the werewolf or shape-shifter that needs to heal an aching heart because it took him years to find his true mate. He’s the vampire who has waited decades for that special someone’s blood to sing to him and wake him up. And he’s the knight who can defeat the enemy with a quick swing of his sword, but can’t see the love in front of his face. My Alpha Male has eyes that can see into your soul and are as blue as the sea, or as black as a storm. He’s tall and brooding. His heart can enfold you into its grasp and make you fall in love when he gives it to you freely and completely. He is protective and passionate. In the end he is the one that makes your heart jump and butterflies fly in your stomach, and still kiss you until your legs melt!

  42. Alpha males are the best….strong, independent, fiercely protective, but on the inside they are nothing but a big ol’ teddy bear! I love the way their mouths talk filthy, but their eyes portray their sensitive sweet. They can be rough and tough in the bedroom, but still have the gentle caress of an attentive and protective lover. It's all in the heart.....alpha males are the best!

Jack Gordon from Liz Crowe's REALTOR series rocks!
