I have started the 3rd book
in my contemporary romance series and I keep wondering what makes a
book great. We all have read books that were good and that we
enjoyed while reading them, but once we finished, we put them aside
and forgot about them. Then there are those books that we have read
over and over again.
So what is the difference between these
books? I want to know because I want my books to be those great ones
that people want to read again.
To help me answer this question, I am
going to re-read those books that I love. Those that I have already
read so many times that the pages are creased and bent. I just need
to decide which one to start with.
While I do that, I would love to hear from some of you about what you think makes a book not only good but great
I think a truly great book has characters that make you grin when you realise they're in the scene. As I re-read some of my favourites I find myself thinking "Oh no, I know what's coming next....maybe if I wish, it won't happen". That fear of what's coming combined with the characters who warm your heart are what makes a book great :)
ReplyDeleteYes. And when they are not in a scene you are disapointed.
